May 2—6—We’re Celebrating National Small Business Week and National Tourism Week in Red Wing!
The Red Wing Area Chamber of Commerce and the Red Wing Visitors & Convention Bureau (VCB) are teaming up to celebrate National Small Business Week and National Tourism Week in Red Wing! During this week, we want to celebrate ALL the businesses in the Red Wing area and we’ve got several fun events planned throughout the week!
Tuesday, May 3—Stop at the Chamber Office (439 Main Street) for “sweet treats” between 4-5PM. It’s a great time to stop in and meet the Chamber staff, aka, “The Chamber Ladies.” Plus, it’s a great time to check on your brochure inventory in our lobby, verify your information is correct in our database, update us on your business expansions, new employees, new products & services etc. Plus, let us know what we should be telling others about your business, ask us any questions, or just come in for some tasty treats!
Wednesday, May 4—Join us for a FREE LUNCH, anytime between 11:30AM--1:30PM at the Visitor & Convention Bureau, located in the Historic Train Depot at 420 Levee Street. This is a great opportunity to check on your brochure inventory and learn about all the things the VCB can do for your business.
Thursday, May 5—Join us at the St. James Hotel for a Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening of their new Hamline Suites. The Open House runs from 4:30-6:30PM, featuring tours and appetizers and beverages, and the Official Ribbon Cutting by Chamber Staff and Ambassadors is at 5PM. Then the Chamber and VCB Host Trivia at Jimmy’s Pub from 7-9PM, highlighting tourism and businesses in the Red Wing area.
Friday—May 6—AM Expresso at Red Wing Golf Club—7:30-9AM. Join us for this great networking event, featuring good food, good beverages and great conversation at the beautiful Red Wing Golf Club (1311 West Sixth Street).
New Hamline Suites at St. James Hotel—Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting—May 5—4:30PM-6:30PM, Ribbon Cutting at 5PM
Come see the St. James Hotel’s new 5-room expansion on May 5 from 4:30-6:30PM. Tours and refreshments will be provided. Old and new collide, as architectural engineers masterfully aligned modern day conveniences with our historical 19th century settings and the storied past of Hamline University. As Minnesota’s oldest university, Hamline’s first home was in Red Wing from 1854-1869. Mantles, arches, windows, furniture, and original wood flooring were gathered and re-purposed from the original President’s House in St. Paul, and have been incorporated into each suite. This unique harmony of historical vestige and hospitality luxuries create an impressive experience, enriched with history. The Chamber Staff and Ambassadors will do a Ribbon Cutting at 5PM.
