Red Wing World Cafe Community Meeting
As part of the Blandin Leadership Series, Red Wing was chosen as an ACE (Academy for Community Engagement) community. As part of an ACE community, Red Wing hosted a World Café on March 22 designed to create community discussions on how Red Wing can become an ultimate tourist destination. Several dozen community residents attended and were divided into small groups to come up with ideas. At the April 1 meeting at 5:30PM at the Red Wing Ignite Building (419 Bush Street), these ideas will be presented. Everyone in the community is invited to participate in this event. The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and our local SCORE office are working together to make sure all small businesses in Red Wing have access to free consulting. In addition to the SCORE office at the Chamber, an SBDC Consultant will be in Red Wing on March 6 and 20. Both are available to meet with businesses on a variety of topics including: Business Plans, Financial Analysis, Cash Flow, Marketing, and brainstorming ideas on how to grow your business. Businesses for Food Challenge
We are raising funds for the Red Wing Area Food Shelf during Taste Buds & Business on April 15. Sign your business up for our "Businesses For Food Challenge!" We are challenging any businesses that want to participate to notify us and we will set out a large see-through jar with the business name and logo on it. Throughout the night we will encourage attendees to place money in the jars of any business, with the understanding the business will match the funds in their jar at the end of the night (up to a $100 maximum). At the end of the night, we will announce the business that raised the most money! It?s a great way for the business community to earn some recognition and donate to a great cause in our area.
