FREE Business Consulting Through MN State College-SE Technical
The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and our local SCORE office are working together to make sure all small businesses in Red Wing have access to free consulting. In addition to the SCORE office at the Chamber, an SBDC Consultant will be in Red Wing on March 6 and 20. Both are available to meet with businesses on a variety of topics including: Business Plans, Financial Analysis, Cash Flow, Marketing, and brainstorming ideas on how to grow your business. Sales, service and parts for these lines are all located at 3859 Highway 61 North. You can expect the same familiar faces and excellent service you’ve grown to know at River Valley Power and Sport. Please stop in and visit their beautiful new indoor, year-round showroom!
The original location at 3399 South Service Drive is going back to its beginnings, as the Lawnscape Center featuring lawn and garden equipment sales, service and parts for Toro, Ex-Mark and Stihl. The lawnscape property maintenance division continues to operate from this facility. In addition, home owners can expect to find an expanded landscape supply area, for those do-it-yourself projects.
Please attend their Grand Opening Celebration May 1—3. They will have HUGE sales, demos, seminars all 3 days, and many door prizes! Thursday May 1, they are hosting a VIP event 5—7PM, kicked off officially with the Red Wing Ambassadors Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 4:30PM. Public Boating Class
There will be two consecutive classes, 4 hours each on April 26 and May 3. Cost is $29 and includes continental breakfast and beverages. Age 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Preregistration is highly recommended. The ABC class is Coast Guard approved, prepares for state license for minors. This class is the American Boating Course Third Edition and is for the new boater as well as seasoned boaters. Get Ready to Ramble - Kick Off & Registration
Kick-off and registration is May 19 at 5:15PM at Central Park. Jenna Hughes YMCA personal trainer and Kathy Sheehan, Mayo Clinic Health System athletic trainer will lead 15 minute educational sessions weekly in Central Park on Mondays for 10 weeks followed by a 30 minute group run/walk. Each week experts will present information on topics such as nutrition, strength training and other information that will keep you healthy while you train. There is no charge for the program which will prepare participants for the River City Ramble, a 5K walk/run, 2 mile walk and a kids’ race on August 2. These meetings around the state are the first step in developing the priorities for the Minnesota business community at the Legislature. These meetings are an opportunity for you to share your concerns and challenges when it comes to running a business in Minnesota. In addition, the Minnesota Chamber will provide an update on the status of key issues and a recap of what happened during the legislative session. Every Hand Joined Hosts An Evening With Art Rolnick
Dr. Rolnick has spent the last decade traveling the country to deliver his early childhood message. He also serves as co-director of the Human Capital Research Collaborative at the U of M. He previously served at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis as a senior vice president and director of research, and as an associate economist with the Federal Open Market Committee. The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and our local SCORE office are working together to make sure all small businesses in Red Wing have access to free consulting. In addition to the SCORE office at the Chamber, an SBDC Consultant will be in Red Wing on March 6 and 20. Both are available to meet with businesses on a variety of topics including: Business Plans, Financial Analysis, Cash Flow, Marketing, and brainstorming ideas on how to grow your business. Red Wing Museum Crawl
The historic museums of Red Wing are pleased to host the first ever Museum Crawl—an exhibit and sale of the Phil Revoir Collection. Phil Revoir is a retired photographer who collected and restored vintage photos of the greater Red Wing community. His life’s work has been donated to the historic museums of Red Wing, so that all may enjoy his fine collection of photography, ephemera, and memorabilia. Surplus items will be sold at the Red Wing Pottery Museum during the Museum Crawl. All sales are final and support local non-profit history museums. Admission to all museums is FREE during the crawl weekend. Fill your Museum Passport by getting stamped at each museum and you can enter the drawing to win a matted print of a local scene (winner will be selected June 1 at 6PM). Museums in the Crawl include: Red Wing Pottery Museum (Pottery Annex-Harrison Street); Goodhue County Historical Society (1166 Oak Street); Red Wing Marine Museum (935 Levee Road); American Ski Jumping Hall of Fame & Museum (406 Main Street); Red Wing Shoe Company Museum (315 Main Street); and Aliveo Military Museum (321 Bush Street).
