The Red Wing Area Chamber of Commerce is launching a new program that will make it easier for you to promote your business to the thousands of visitors that are scheduled to come to Red Wing during 2012. We want to make it as easy as
possible for these “guests” to do business with you!
The goal of the Red Wing Guest Pass is to encourage people to visit the participating businesses while they are in Red Wing. On this card will be special offers or promotions from our business community.
When the Chamber issues the Guest Pass, they will be identified with the specific event where this person received the Guest Pass, so you as a business owner can determine where these customers are coming from. If you look at the Top of the Guest Pass, the source will be printed in red letters across the top (i.e. Welcome FLW Fishermen, Welcome Collectors etc.). If it has been distributed to visitors that stopped at the Chamber office, it will have the logo of the Chamber at the top.
Distribution
Red Wing Guest Passes will be issued at the following events during 2012:
· FLW Fishing Tournament (April 14-21; 1000 estimated visitors)
· Full Throttle Fishing Tournament (April 14; 100 estimated visitors)
· Tour de Red Wing (April 21; 150 estimated visitors)
· Red Wing Collectors Society 35th “Crock Fest” Celebration (July 12-14; 2000 estimated visitors)
· River City 3 on 3 Shootout Basketball Tournament (August 4; estimated 1000 visitors)
· Minnesota24 Bike Event (August 25-26; estimated 600 visitors)
· American Queen Riverboat—Levee Park-- (9 stops X 400 Passengers=3,600 Visitors); September 20, 22; October 4, 6, 18, 21, 23; November 4 and 6, 2012
· Queen of the Mississippi River Boat—Levee Park--(4 stops X 150 Passengers= 600 visitors); September 2 visits; October 2 visits.
· Drive for Kids Car Ride (October 13-14; estimated 200 visitors)
· Xcel Outage Employees (Fall; for 4-8 weeks ; estimated 300-800 visitors)
· Visitors to the Red Wing Chamber office (estimated 3,800—in 2011 we had 3,754 visitors to our office).
According to this list, we are expecting over 13,000 visitors to Red Wing during 2012 and this doesn’t even count the groups that we don’t know about yet that are planning trips to Red Wing during 2012! We will continue to distribute the Guest Pass to any other groups that show an interest in receiving it.
It is EASY to participate! Simply contact the Chamber and say you want to be included on the Red Wing Guest Pass! Cost is only $200 per participating business, ($300 if you are NOT a Chamber or Downtown Mainstreet Member).
Red Wing Guest Pass Guidelines:
· Your offer must be good through December 31, 2012. Keep your offer simple! Offers from participating businesses will be printed on the cards.
· Guest Pass cards may be used multiple times by a visitor. (Some visitors stay longer than others.)
· Each business must educate their employees on how to process their offer on the Red Wing Guest Pass.
· Limited space is available on the Guest Pass, so first come, first serve.
Due to the success of the Guest Pass program, the actual card shape and size is subject to change. Our goal is to make the card easy to carry for our guests and durable enough to stand up to gentle wear and tear. We also want to make it fit into a pocket so they can carry it with them. We will not be laminating the cards as we originally thought for easier flexibility.
The front of the card will contain logos printed in color of each participating business. The back side will be the offers printed in black ink.
The Guest Pass cards may also change as the year goes on if more businesses decide to participate at a later date. However, the cost of the Guest Pass will remain $200 through the end of 2012. If businesses join later, they may miss some distribution opportunities to promote their businesses.
As we distribute the batches of Guest Pass cards to visitors, we will email participating businesses to notify them that the Guest Passes are in circulation.
What a great way to promote your business all year long and make our visitors feel like “special guests” of our city! For more information contact the Red Wing Chamber, frontdesk@redwingchamber.com or call 651-388-4719.
