The public is invited to join representatives from all the historical organizations in Goodhue County for the Annual Meeting on Sunday, April 17. Short reports from the organizations begin at 2 PM, with a program following. Refreshments will be served.
The program will feature David Grabitske, author of Six Miles from St. Paul: the family and society of Sarah Jane Sibley. An inveterate letter writer whose correspondence has been destroyed, Sarah Jane Sibley was the first Governor's Wife of Minnesota, led the first historic preservation effort in Minnesota, and was key to setting social patterns that endure. Her story is told through the observations of her by family and friends.
