The Goodhue County History Center is hosting A Hangar Dance with a World War II – USO theme on September 22 at the hangar at the Red Wing Airport, located on Highway 35 in Bay City. Music by Generation II Big Band and Shoreline Dance Studio will offer free dance lessons. A silent auction including vintage books and music plus modern items. A highlight of the night will be a costume contest for people wearing 1940s or vintage-look garb. Dinner & dance tickets are $30, or dance-only for $20. Doors open at 5:30 PM—dance lessons begin at 5:45 PM—food served from 6 -7 PM—Dancing 7:30-11:30 PM. Tickets are available at Bella Casa and Riverbend Market Cooperative, committee members and the Goodhue County History Center, 1166 Oak Street or by calling 651-388-6024. Dinner tickets must be ordered in advance; dance tickets will be available at the door.
