Backpack Saturday—McDonald’s® of Red Wing (2770 North Service Drive) is helping families get ready for school by giving away 100 backpacks on August 3 beginning at 8AM. The first 100 school-age children (K-8) who are accompanied by a parent on August 3 will receive a voucher to redeem for a free backpack. No purchase is required. Families are encouraged to arrive early because the free offer is only good while supplies last. When McDonald’s® run out of backpacks, children in line will be given a coupon, redeemable at a later date, for a free McDonald’s® meal. “Backpack Saturday” is part of Courtesy Corporation-McDonald’s commitment to local education. Our “education first” philosophy starts with our employees who are offered the benefit McScholars, a tuition matching program. This day is just one more opportunity to stress the importance of education.”
