The Red Wing Rotary Club is staging their third annual Tour de’ Red Wing, a bike trek up and down the hills and valleys of Pretty Red Wing. The event, open to anyone, is April 27, with registration starting at 7AM at the Minnesota State College-Southeast Technical parking lot on Pioneer Road and Highway 58. After the tour, each participant is invited to a breakfast of pancakes, eggs, and sausage in the school's cafeteria. Contestants will be given a 2013 Tour de’ Red Wing T-shirt.
Pre-register at www.redwingrotary.org or www.zapevent.com. There are four different tours: 10 or 16 miles—Starts and ends at the Technical College. Cost is $20 now, $30 after April 24. 37 or 43 miles—Starts and ends at the Technical College. Cost is $40 now, $50 after April 24
Proceeds of the event will go to S.T.R.I.V.E (Students Taking Renewed Interest in the Value of Education), a program at the Red Wing High School. This is a mentor program, by members of the Rotary Club, which helps high school students with challenges gain success in academics, confidence in the challenges of everyday life and helps them become good citizens.
