Event Description:
The Prairie Island Indian Community is excited to host this year’s Dakota Wacipi Celebration. A Wacipi is the celebration of life, family and the offering of honor and respect for dignitaries, royalty and culture. We invite you to join us in the pageantry and heritage of the breathtaking tribal dances and beautiful traditional songs.
The event features dancers and drummers from all around the United States and Canada. Judging is based on creativity, keeping the beat and stopping at the right moment. In addition to the dancers and drummers, the Wacipi Celebration offers delicious Native American food and a wide array of Indian arts, handmade crafts and jewelry for sale.

The celebration is held outdoors next to Treasure Island Resort & Casino on the Pow Wow grounds.
